Why I Serve:
I didn’t set out to become an attorney. But the closer I got to this work, the more I understood: family law combines everything I care about — listening carefully to people in difficult moments, solving complex problems, and advocating for families who need someone in their corner.
For over a decade, I’ve walked alongside Houston families through divorce, custody battles, and child support cases. What I’ve learned is that the best legal outcomes rarely come from legal knowledge alone — they come from understanding what a client actually values, what they’re afraid of, and what they’re trying to build for their future. That’s where listening matters most.
My faith and my training as a mediator both shape the same conviction: that most family law disputes can be resolved with less conflict and less cost when someone takes the time to understand all sides. When that’s possible, we pursue it. When the other side won’t cooperate, we’re prepared for court.

Many of the clients I’ve served have expressed gratitude simply because I take the time to actively listen to them. Many attorneys prioritize billable hours. I value genuine care, recognizing that my clients are people navigating challenging situations, not mere cases to resolve and customers to perform services for.
Case in point, in divorce cases, so many of my clients grapple with emotional struggles like grief or anger over the end of their marriage. Understandably so. Addressing these emotions first helps build trust and clarity, making it easier to develop strategies to achieve their goals. Active listening and empathizing with their experiences is the key by which I create a space where they feel supported and understood. This ultimately brings the added benefit of helping us work more effectively together.
I also make it a point to make myself accessible to clients, especially for urgent matters, while maintaining healthy boundaries. I provide my personal contact information for emergencies but set clear expectations about availability after hours or on weekends. This balance ensures clients feel supported without compromising my own well-being.
Finally, I emphasize honesty—whether it’s about billing, case expectations, or outcomes. Fostering open communication and actively listening to your concerns, I’ve found, is the best way to provide professional and compassionate service that builds trust and delivers results.
